Need Advice From New Mommies

I have a question that has been concerning me for a couple of days. If you feel confortable answering it, please do. I'm 10 weeks postpartum, & my boyfriend & I just started the "Insanity" workout program. We have done four, 38 minute sessions, each day now for four days. Every time we are done, I use the restroom & I notice a little very light pink blood on the first wipe, & then it is gone until the next time I work out again. Anyone know what is going on with me?

  1. Does it look fresh? It could be coming from the "healed" episiotomy ... I have not had this happen to me. I started running again at four weeks postpartum with my second and third deliveries (6 weeks after my first). However, I didn't have any stitches the second or third times around. I did have stitches with the first, but that was four years ago, and I don't remember if I spotted when I resumed my running. It may be worth a call to your OB or midwife, especially if it continues. (Personally, I'd probably give it a few more tries before calling, but I also tend to wait things out before calling doctors.

    1. yeah, I can't stand going to the doctor!! I stopped doing insanity for now. I was reading online how your joints and muscles can take up to a year to get back to normal. It was just a little, like very (the lightest pink) probably.

    It could be
lochia it's completely normal your body just needs additional time to heal.

  3. Call and ask the doctor. It's probably totally normal since it's only a very small amount but if you ask and they tell you it's normal, you'll relax much faster.

  4. Hmm that is weird. You wrote this a few days ago...has it still been happening? Did the doc say everything was fine at your 6-wk check up? I started p90x 3 wks postpartum (I only lasted two days lol!) but never bled after working out. I would definitely take it easy and call the doc just to make sure everything's ok! :)

    1. I stopped doing the workout because I figured it was a sign clearly that I needed to take it easy, so I have just been walking with Matthew the last week or so.
