Matthew is 14 weeks old. wow. 3 1/2 months. Grown on little one. He has just woken up from a peaceful nap to get a flash in his face. I know i'm not the only mom out there obsessed with taking pictures of this perfect face. Getting very anxious/nervous for his 4 month appointment. Only because of the immunizations, still haven't come to a decision & probably won't till I get there & it's about to happen.

Health: I've been very paranoid this week. I felt bad on Saturday & then next thing I know Adam is super sick with the sniffles, sore throat, body aches, the whole shebang  Thankfully I haven't gotten any worse than Saturday, I actually feel better since then. But i'm sure I will get some kind of cold next week after Adam feels better. Matthew has been sneezing a little, a little redness around the eyes, but that's it right now. Happy little boy.

Nutrition: We attempted to switch back to the 9 oz bottles again. He literally left 2 ounces (the 2 more that we were giving him) & would fall asleep. We are giving him 4 oz every 1-1 1/2 hour now. Unless he is asleep, then he will go longer. So he is eating more than he used to, just more frequently. For some reason he can't finish more than 4 oz each time. For the past two days he hasn't been spitting up nearly as much either, sigh of relief.

Let me begin with, I MADE THIS ONSIE. Go me. I got a sewing machine, so I have been at it. Pinteresting & etsying it up for sure. This is his favorite team (As I say) KANSAS JAYHAWKS. I was born & raised in Kansas, & this is my team :) Look at those rosy red cheeks!! It's getting really cold here in Georgia finally. Starting to look a lot more like fall now.

Sleep: We are still swaddling. I think it makes me less paranoid when he is swaddled because I know he isn't throwing things around, everything is in place, & his little hands & toes are warm. I'm not sure even if he knew how to roll over if he would be able to manage it in the rock n play sleeper because it is so dipped in & the sides come up high on the side, so I don't know. He has been sleeping a sold 7-8 hours every night now, THANK YOU.

Toys: We have made progress!! He is grabbing on, & chewing on his toys. He really enjoys the sound the most I think, but loves the colors on them. These toys right here are by far his favorite (probably because they make the most noise). But he also is chewing on his hands a lot.

Here is another one of my creations, chevron burp rags :) Let me tell you, if you love everything etsy, get a sewing machine. It's ten times cheaper this way. He is sitting completely up in the bumbo without much wobbling at all. He is actually enjoying it a little more, we had him in it for 20 minutes last night while daddy was playing his new halo game (can't stand that game, or how mad he gets) lol. But he was leaning a little to the side after a while because he was falling asleep in it.

This would be a not so happy time in the bumbo, but I couldn't pass up getting a photo of him in this adorable outfit. Have the get the cute outfits on camera before he grows out of them!! We put the tray on last night for the first time & he enjoyed playing with his elephant, it really helped because it didn't fall on the floor so he could still get to it.

He loves standing up. Literally, loves. He just started this week a new thing. Every time we put him down/lay he starts bringing his whole body up to try & sit up. Time to buckle him into everything!! I see a neck as well!! Progress is being made :)

Social: Adam & I swear that he has said "mama" multiple times now. Flat out "mama". Has anyone else heard this from their 3 month old? lol. I think it could be just the cooing sounds & he turns them into mama without even realizing it. I love every little sound he makes regardless it is too cute. He watches us go everywhere, as soon as we leave his site he starts crying. He isn't a big crier unless he isn't getting enough attention, hungry, needs changed, you know the basic stuff.

Haha look at that face, he is like "are you for real mom, get that camera out of my face for once". I'm going to have a picture of this child every week for the rest of his life probably. I can see it now "this is you week 145, week 1357" no joke. I love this child in some stripes!!

Sporting his favorite team of course lol. KU actually played at the Georgia dome last night, but we didn't go :( I wish I would have though that would have been awesome & felt like home. I think he has become addicted to the pacifier unfortunately  When you even put it near his face his hands instantly go up trying every which way to get it into his mouth. The other night I tried to pull it out & he had the hardest suck on it I felt like I ripped it out of his mouth poor baby.

When he is fast asleep, if I start saying "Mattttthewwwww, hi baby, I love you", he will smile in the middle of his sleep. Honestly it makes my heart melt. I get a little bit of recognition there!! I couldn't believe I actually got my phone camera out fast enough.

Clothing: He is still in 0-3 months/3 month. I don't think we are going to make it past this last sleeve or two of size 2 diapers. Eeeeekkkkk. The huggies size 2 for sure are too small, but the pampers are hanging on. I tried to put some 6 month jammies on him last night but they were a little too big still.

I also made this onsie, well, put patches on the elbows. If its a fashion statement for adults it must be for infants too, right?! We also have full success with the play mat, playing with toys & looking into the mirror. We haven't learned how to roll over yet, but I've just now started working on it with him, so give it a few weeks :)

It's been so convenient having so many extra covers for everything, because we don't do laundry everyday or at least try not too. Some times we change him in random places & the pee goes every where.

Last but not least, the KU bib I made. A little rough around the edges but that's (mink) material on the back side so I can't expect it to be perfect. I need to learn how to attach the velcro more gracefully.

  4. I am loving all his clothes that you're making, so many good ideas :) & I am guilty of constantly having the camera in Carter's face, but its crazy when you look back & can watch them grow before your eyes, all over again :)

    1. oh, hmm, I haven't heard that before. Our pediatrician sheet that we got from the ped. says babies will generally take half their weight in ounces every 3-4 hours at this time, which would mean he would need 8 ounces every 3-4 hours & we are only giving him 4-6 ounces.

  10. I love his outfit in the first picture. Isn't it fun making things?! For a bib try metal snaps. So much easier and he won't be able to pull it off when he's older. ;)
