Wedding Planning....LAST MONTH

First things first, WE HAVE A NEW VENUE & A NEW WEDDING DATE. I got a call barely 4 weeks before my wedding from the owner of our first venue site "Magnolia Hall", turns out it was flooded by a toilet in the upstairs "bridal room" & ran over night, all the floors were soaked & there was even a ceiling that came down. Yes, I completely panicked. I mean what else are you supposed to do when its only a month until your wedding & the place your having it at is a no go? They gave us an alternate, an old church, I just couldn't go for it, it's not what I wanted, & I didn't have enough decorations to turn that place around. I started calling place after place, asking on face book for recommendations  Everywhere was booked for July 27. I finally called "Venue 92" which was a place we had looked at in the beginning but was mighty expensive in our opinion, only because it was thousands of dollars for just the venue & ceremony site, nothing else was included. But honesty, we didn't care at this point, Adam knew this place was gorgeous & made me happy so we signed on over 3 days after I found out about the flooding & they were open for July 26, the day before, on a Friday, so we took it. I wasn't too worried about people being able to come, all my family had already bought plane tickets & would be there before Friday. Its coming down to maybe a total of 10 people that can't come because of the date change, but I see it as, anyone that really wants to be there, will be there. You only get married once, I think it's going to be worth it :) Some of our decor & invites obviously say the 27, but i'm not going to let it bother me too much ;)

This is the reception room, so modern & sparkly ;) I can't wait to show pictures with all my decor & the rest of the building!!

The ceremony spot :) still outside, which I wanted, BUT this has by far been the rainiest summer in Georgia so far, & I don't want to get my hopes up too much. The ceremony is going to be at night, so please wish us luck :)

My hanger is finally here :) My LAST dress fitting is this Friday, I can't wait to bring the dress home all altered & everything & hang it on this beauty. I purchased this from an etsy site called Wishuponstarfish. She has awesome prices & this hanger is still on sale!!

I forgot to share on my favorite things from the bachelorette party. These were DIY by me. I got the idea from pinterest. I used hot pink scrapbook paper, cut the shape out, sprinkled glitter around the sides, punched holes up the sides in the middle & then added the sparkly gold ribbon. They turned out way better than I expected :)

My matching wedding band :)

Some more DIY projects I've done for the wedding. These are mason jars wrapped in light pink yarn. I used hot glue to keep the yarn on there, super easy & simple!! I'll be filling them with real flowers.

These were the first two wedding gifts we received from Adam's super generous friend. I completely melted when I opened them up. Adam wanted this pot set SO bad & I wanted this pink kitchen aid SO bad!! I never realized that people sent gifts before the wedding, but we have received lots of goodies all ready. I would defiantly recommend registering for a lot of different things, 5$ things, & 200$ plus things. You never know what people want to get you. We only registered at Target, because I've noticed from my baby shower that no one went to babies r us, they all went to Target. People like to go to places that are convenient for them, that they go to on a weekly basis. I'm not going to spend two hours or longer registering at Bed Bath & Beyond when everything in Target is pretty much the same or better & no one is going to go there.

These are the favors for the guys, I have different ones for the girls. These were super easy & not too expensive at all. The labels were around 30$ something & each Jack Daniels mini shot was 2$. Even though the bottles have the wrong date now, I don't think anyone is going to pay too much attention :) LiquidCourage is who made the labels, I just picked the mini shots up at a local liquor store!!

We picked up our marriage license this month. We were both so excited. I never realized how unofficial looking the first one you get looks lol!! Although it did have a cool stamp thing on it, haha.

An up close view of the bridesmaid tanks that the girls wore for the zumba party. They were lace razorback in the back!! I got them off etsy from BrideBikini

This was when I first picked my dress up for the first time, I could barely get it to fit in the car, or even carry it myself!! Don't worry, Matthew isn't in the car seat lol!! I tried it on as soon as I got home, but it was HUGE on me, goes to show I really have lost quite a few inches in the last few months.

I already had my passport, but Adam's came in the mail :) He was so excited, because he has never had one!! We are so excited to go on our honeymoon in August. We are waiting till a month after the wedding because we are throwing Matthew's first birthday party two days after the wedding since all of our family will still be here. I'm actually extremely relived that we swtiched the date for the wedding because now instead of coming home that night trying to get ready for his party the next day, I will have a whole day & night to get ready for it!! We picked some of our honeymoon land excursions the other night. We will be swimming with doplhins, kayaking, snorkling, & going to a water park at Atlantis!! I've been to water park, not this one, just ones on other vacations, but I've never done any of the other things. I'm just SO excited. The number one thing I'm super stoked for is swimming with a dolphin!!

My bridesmaid Lynn & I were practicing hair & makeup. I'm letting her do both. She was the first friend I met when I moved to Georgia. We went to the "Esani Institute Paul Mitchell Partner School" for cosmetology together. I didn't end up finishing, but she did & I wouldn't trust anyone else but my mom & her to do my hair & make up.

I don't remember showing everyone the calligraphy I did on all the save the dates. I used a calligraphy pen from Office Depot & just went with it!! It doesn't take as long as you think.

  5. Your new venue looks gorgeous! Glad it all worked out and here's hoping that it doesn't rain for you! We've had such a wet summer here in Kentucky too...
One thing I wanted to add about your registry is be careful with Target if you need to return any of the gifts. I had such problems with them after our wedding because people didn't give us gift receipts and they didn't take the gifts off of the registry when they bought them so we ended up with 7 waffle irons! 7!!! Targets return policy is crap and they only take back $70 worth of stuff a year on your license. They were so rude when I tried to take back the waffle irons and blamed me for not having the gift receipts... like it was my fault. So just a heads up...
Bed Bath and Beyond has a GREAT return policy. You can even keep and use stuff for up to 2 years and at the end of 2 years you decide you don't like it, they will still let you return it!! Crazy good! Just a little FYI :)
Can't wait to see pictures of the big day and Matthew's 1st birthday!

    1. jeez!! Hopefully I don't have too much of a problem, I can't stand when guests don't go onto the registry & have them crossed off. I went to a friends bridal shower recently and 4 other people got the same gift!! & I had went an hour before her party, I was so mad lol. I didn't ever have a problem with my baby shower stuff, I sure hope I won't!! That's ridiculous how they acted!

  6. Wow, you sure are taking a venue AND date change extremely well! Good for you! I don't think I (or many other brides) would have been quite as cool about it, lol. The new venue is amazing! Looks like everything is coming together beautifully!

  8. Oh gosh, that is really stressful to have to change like that last minute. You are handling the change REALLY well! Our wedding photographer told us three weeks before our wedding that she also booked another wedding on our day and it meant a lot of my photo times weren't an option. I was a mess because it was the busiest wedding day that year and I totally couldn't find another photographer.

The amazing thing is no matter what ends up happening with your wedding...you're going to remember it and just love it!
